Splash pad, Sandusky’s newest attraction, opened Wednesday August 5th, 2009 at Huron Park. Kids gathered around the 2,000 square-foot water pad for the grand opening and were greeted with buckets of water pouring over their heads, jets spraying from the ground at different angles other various spraying fountains. There is no standing water at splash pad, making it safe for children who aren’t able swim. It was also designed in accordance with Americans with Disabilities Act standards, so children in wheelchairs will also be able to join in the fun! A week later, children continue to enjoy this wonderful attraction, especially this past weekend when temperatures reached a high of 92 degrees!
