Festival of Ships: Schedule of Activities (July 2 - 4)

Sandusky’s waterfront provides the perfect setting for the Festival of Ships. This year the event is centered around the arrival of the Lynx, a tall ship designed and built to resemble a privateer or naval schooner from the War of 1812. It will be open for tours throughout the festival. In addition, there will be day and evening sails aboard the Journey, a 65′ steel hull schooner. Listed below is a detailed schedule of events.

Friday – July 2nd
10 am – Sail aboard JOURNEY
10 am – 6 pm – Maritime Museum of Sandusky is open, with model boat building for children
11 am – 6 pm – LYNX is open for tours
1 pm – Sail aboard JOURNEY
4 pm – Sail aboard JOURNEY

Saturday, July 3rd
10 am – Sail aboard JOURNEY
10 am – 6 pm – Maritime Museum of Sandusky is open, with model boat building for children
10 am – 1 pm – COASTIE at the Maritime Museum of Sandusky
10 am – 4 pm – Stars & Stripes Celebration at Washington Park in downtown Sandusky
11 am – 6 pm – LYNX is open for tours
11 am & Noon – Underground Railroad Trolley Tours (reservations required)
1 pm – Sail aboard JOURNEY
1 – 4 pm – Silly Pirate Show with Capt’n Willie at the Maritime Museum of Sandusky
4 pm – Sail aboard JOURNEY

Sunday, July 4th
10 am – Sail aboard JOURNEY
10 am – 6 pm – Maritime Museum of Sandusky is open, with model boat building for children
11 am – 6 pm – LYNX is open for tours
1 pm – Sail aboard JOURNEY
2 pm – Architectural Walking Tour begins at Facer Park
4 pm – Sail aboard JOURNEY
4 pm – Big Splash Raffle Early Bird Drawing at the Maritime Museum of Sandusky
