Celebrate All Things Winter at Local Ice Festivals
Ready to embrace winter for all that it is? Celebrate with one fun-filled weekend and two local ice festivals.
February’s festive first weekend is a snowy salute with Sandusky’s Arctic Ice Festival and Vermilion’s An Ice-A-Fair to Remember. Both celebrations include fantastic ice carving demonstrations you won’t want to miss.
Enjoy a fun and educational weekend of winter activities during the Arctic Ice Festival at the Maritime Museum of Sandusky. Events include ice carving, ice harvesting, ice fishing & ice diving demonstrations, ice boat races, historical program ‘Iceboats on the Sandusky Bay,’ soup cook-off and more (weather permitting). This fabulous festival takes place 10 am-4 pm on Saturday, February 2 and Sunday, February 3, 2013.
Experience the charming harbourtown of Vermilion during an Ice-A-Fair to Remember featuring ice sculptures on display, a visit with Frosty the Snowman, and rides on Lolly the Trolley. Stop into the Main Street Vermilion office for hot chocolate and cookies! This fun event takes place 11 am-4 pm on Saturday, February 2, 2013.
Don’t miss out on all the winter fun!
