This 38-foot lighthouse was built in 1862. The light, which was used for navigation until 1909, is located atop the lighthouse keeper's 6-room limestone home at the tip of the Cedar Point peninsula. It can be viewed up close during Cedar Point's operating hours. A parking toll is required to travel around the Cedar Point peninsula to see the lighthouse.

The Huron Lighthouse is maintained by the United States Coast Guard. The lighthouse is not open for tours; however, visitors can walk the mile-long pier for close-up views. The pier is a great fishing spot year-round.

This state park features picnic facilities, fishing, walking trails, and the Marblehead Lighthouse. In use since 1822, this is the oldest continually operating lighthouse on the Great Lakes. Guided lighthouse tours are available May-Sept, Mon-Fri 12-4 pm, Sun 4-6 pm, and the second Sat of each month Jun-Oct, 11am-4 pm. The Marblehead Lighthouse Historical Society Museum, located on site, is open the same hours.

Visitors have the opportunity to tour the lighthouse and learn about its history. Jun 17-Aug 13, Mon-Tue 11 am-5 pm. $3 per person.

Vermilion Lighthouse Vermilion Lighthouse

The Vermilion Lighthouse is a replica of an original lighthouse that was later moved to Lake Ontario. Known as the "Town of Sea Captains." Vermilion was without a lighthouse for 63 years. The lighthouse is located next to Main Street Beach. Can walk up to it; no entry inside.
Directions: From SR 2 between Huron and Lorain, exit onto SR 60 and go north. Follow SR 60 N and continue straight ahead (north) on Main St. to the lake. Lighthouse on the left.
