A self-guided adventure, providing you with an exciting opportunity to experience spring migration on the northern shore of Lake Erie. For many migratory birds, Point Pelee will be the first forested land they encounter as they make their long migratory flight across the lake en route to their northern nesting grounds. In addition, miles of hiking trails through woodland, marsh, and beachfront is available for your enjoyment. This is a trip for anyone who loves the outdoors. Special guest birding expert and author, Tom Hince, plans to be onboard signing his new book on Western Lake Erie birding hotspots (in Ontario, Michigan, and Ohio). Tom is the former chief park naturalist at Point Pelee, and has authored the Birders Guide to Point Pelee. He will be available throughout the trip to provide special insights and directions while planning your day at Pt. Pelee. Enjoy a scenic 40-mile Jet Express cruise across Lake Erie, to downtown Leamington, Ontario Canada. The trip includes breakfast coffee and muffin, box lunch, bus transportation to/from Leamington Marina to the Pt. Pelee Visitor's Center (20-minutes each way), park admission ticket, and shuttle service between the Visitor's Center, the Marsh, and the famous Pelee Point. The Pt. Pelee Visitor's Center features an expert staff, gift shop, exhibits, movies, and restrooms. Reservations required. A valid U.S. Passport is required.
