Tall Ships in Lake Erie

Battle of Lake Erie Bicentennial

Wind, water and history converge as an international flotilla of Tall Ships sails into Lake Erie’s western basin this August. Get an up close look at these Tall Ships in ports, including Catawba Island, Kelleys Island, Middle Bass Island, Port Clinton and Put-in-Bay. These Lake Erie communities will host festivals featuring Tall Ship tours, day sails, musical entertainment, historical reenactors and more.

These Ohio events culminate with a full-scale reenactment of the Battle of Lake Erie at the actual battle site near Put-in-Bay.

Put-in-Bay Independence Day Celebration

Downtown Put-in-Bay

A fireworks program on Jul 4 at dark presented by the Put-in-Bay Business Owners & Friends of the Bay. Shot off a barge in the downtown harbor, the aerial display is best viewed anywhere along the downtown waterfront and from the Perry Memorial grounds. The Central Ohio Symphony will once again perform Put-in-Bay's Freedom Concert on Jul 5 at 6:30 pm at Perry's Victory International Peace Memorial.
