Many decades ago, most vintage decoys were lost, destroyed, or even used to heat hunting cabins, and the few that remain are highly-prized pieces of American folk art. The Lake Erie Islands Historical Society has assembled a collection of these antiquities, some of which date back to the mid-1800s, along with photos, paintings, and other waterfowl hunting items. The exhibition also contains items from the "Market hunting" era along the lake, when 6-guage, 4-guage, and even 2-guage shotguns were used to take multiple birds with one shot.

Beginning in 2009, the annual Put-in-Bay Road Races Reunion celebrates sports car races that were held on the streets of the town of Put-in-Bay on Ohio's South Bass Island from 1952 to 1959 and in 1963. The reunion reaches back in time to capture the history of those races and to recreate the atmosphere of sports car racing of that era. 2016 includes two days of racing at the Put-in-Bay airport, and a car show on day three.
