Johnson's Island Civil War Prison continues to reveal tantalizing details about the war and the men who fought and died. This exhibit focuses on additional information learned through archaeological evidence discovered since the 1965 publication of "Rebels on Lake Erie," the seminal history of the prison written by Charles E. Frohman. Numerous artifacts recovered from the site in recent years are on display.

Thurs-Sat 8 pm, Sun 2 pm
Playmaker's Civic Theatre, 604 W. 6th St., Port Clinton
Set in the little village of Anatevka, the story centers on Tevye, a poor dairyman, and his five daughters. With the help of a colorful and tight-knit Jewish community, Tevye tries to protect his daughters and instill them with tradition in the face of changing social mores and the growing anti-Semitism of Czarist Russia. Rich in historical and ethnic detail, this show's universal theme of tradition cuts across barriers of race, class, nationality, and religion, leaving audiences crying tears of laughter, joy, and success.

When a touring musical family finds no place to go for Christmas, they return to their grandparents’ farm in northern Ohio. There they are forced to deal with longstanding conflicts. In the process they learn the importance of following fate’s unique direction for their lives. New songs and familiar carols are woven together with a turn-of-the-century flavor appropriate for the era.
