Fall on the Islands

Fall on the Islands

September 17, 2019

Autumn is a unique and appealing time to visit the popular Lake Erie islands, including Put-in-Bay and Kelleys Island. Fall weather is mild, as temperate lake breezes wash over both islanders and visitors driving golf carts or riding bicycles through the charming streets. There is less hustle and bustle in the villages, but businesses are open and welcoming to guests. Colors are changing in the trees above the wooded hiking trails and coastal overlooks, making for breathtaking views. While many consider the islands a summer retreat, there are more than two dozen fall events to entice you to make a trip over this season. And, with increased lodging availability and lower room rates (as compared to summer), we can’t think of a reason you wouldn’t plan visit!

*Events at Put-in-Bay are marked (PIB), while events at Kelleys Island are marked (KI).
