Responsible Restart at Sports Force Parks
On May 30, Sports Force Parks became one of the first sport venues in Ohio to welcome back baseball with the Salute to the Season tournament with youth players traveling from various parts of Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and New Jersey.
A top priority at Sports Force Parks is to provide a safe environment for athletes, coaches, and families visiting, as well as their team members and the Lake Erie Shores & Islands community. Sports Force Parks went through a thoughtful and methodical process before moving forward with re-opening their gates this year. While at the facility, Sports Force Parks encouraged all guests to practice safe distancing and proper hygiene at all times. Safety guidelines are posted throughout the venue with the number six to keep in mind. The 6-foot social distancing zone for athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators is one of the mandatory rules laid out by the Ohio Department of Health. Some other mandatory rules include no team water coolers, no handshake lines, no spitting sunflower seeds, and sanitizing dugouts between each game. Adherence to these guidelines were and will be vital to maintaining a safe environment for everyone in attendance.
Sports Force Parks features nine multi-purpose, synthetic turf fields to accommodate soccer, baseball, softball, lacrosse, and football. The team has been working to create additional tournaments and unique opportunities for athletes to participate in their favorite sports. These events include:
• Extended the summer season to run through August by adding two new baseball events: Rust Belt Rumble ׀ Can O’Corn Tournament
• Sandusky Bay Collegiate Summer League for graduating HS seniors and current college baseball players in late June
• 7v7 HS Football Clash at the Point in July
• SFP High School Football Showcase in July

As many businesses and activities in the Shores & Islands region begin to welcome back guests, the health and safety of all who visit, live, and work here is still our top priority. Numerous new cleanliness and wellness policies and procedures have been put into place throughout the region to ensure that our guests not only have a fun and memorable visit, but a safe one.
