Fox's Marsh Wildlife Area
Location & Visitor information
Fox's Marsh Wildlife Area is located in the southwestern portion of North Bass Island and fronts one half mile of publicly-accessible shore on the island's western side. It includes one quarter mile of beach along Manila Bay. The 60-acre marsh, which is the primary feature at the wildlife area, exhibits most of the island's remaining natural coastal wetlands. The marsh's environments support habitat for fox snake, Lake Erie water snake, waterfowl, and migratory shorebirds and songbird populations. This area is accessible for fishing, hunting, trapping, and wildlife viewing. Paddlers may access the shore. Transportation to the island is by private boat or aircraft only.
