NOTE: Magee Marsh will be closed June 1-Sept 1, 2018 for bridge replacements/repairs. Magee Marsh, Crane Creek Beach, and Magee Marsh Boardwalk can be accessed only through Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge via hiking trails. Magee Marsh Wildlife Beach is a beach for wildlife viewing and beach combing only; no swimming. The Crane Creek Estuary Trail leaves from the west end of the parking lot at Magee Marsh and is an easy half-mile mile walk along the lake shore to Crane Creek. During migration and when water levels are appropriately low, this section of the estuary can host shorebirds. A spotting scope is helpful.
