Ohio’s Lake Erie Shores & Islands Celebrates New Year’s Eve with Walleye Drop

LAKE ERIE SHORES & ISLANDS, OHIO, December 20, 2018 --- When you are known as the “Walleye Capital of the World,” you don’t celebrate New Year’s Eve like everyone else. You celebrate, with thousands of fellow revelers, by dropping a 20-foot-long, 600-lb. walleye known as Wylie Jr. as the clock strikes midnight. Add in the kid-friendly “Minnow Drop,” live music performances, games, contests, and more, and it is easy to see why thousands of revelers make the trek to Ohio’s Lake Erie Shores & Islands for this unique event.

For more information, or to schedule an interview, please email Kristina Willoughby, Walleye Drop Chairperson, at kwilloughby@ncbj.net.  Area lodging information is available at SHORESandISLANDS.com and event details can be found at https://www.facebook.com/WylieWalleyeFoundation/
