RELEASES 2019 TRAVEL GUIDE
LAKE ERIE SHORES & ISLANDS, OHIO, February 19, 2019 --- Lake Erie Shores & Islands, the destination marketing organization for Erie and Ottawa counties in Ohio, continues to receive accolades for its innovative marketing campaigns. For the past year, a partnership with Ottawa Broadcasting LLC has allowed the organization to promote area events through a weekly update and specialized Amazon Alexa skill (“Alexa, what’s happening at the lake?” among others.) The promotion was recently awarded a STAR Award from the Ohio Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus. STAR stands for State Tourism Achievement Recognition. The recognition was awarded at the OACVB annual conference for "Creative Marketing Strategies." The Amazon Alexa campaign previously was awarded a RUBY Award from the Ohio Travel Association.
The organization is also proud to announce the availability of the all-new 2019 Ohio’s Lake Erie Shores & Islands Travel Guide. This 180-page publication provides the most comprehensive area information on things to do and places to stay in the region. Filled with visually pleasing imagery of the area’s sites and attractions, the guide features amusements, natural areas, historical sites, dining options, recreational opportunities, and more. Editorial stories include What’s New for 2019, Hitting the Trails, Island Time, and Insta-Worthy Spots. Sections on special events, meetings & groups, ferries, and fishing are also found within the guide. The booklet contains a tear-out attraction map of the region and the always popular Shore Savings Card – good for discounts at many area businesses.
The Travel Guide can be picked up at the two Lake Erie Shores & Islands Welcome Centers in Sandusky and Port Clinton, as well as at turnpike and interstate travel plazas and AAA centers.
