LAKE ERIE SHORES & ISLANDS, OHIO, August 8, 2019 --- Even with days getting shorter, nights getting cooler, and school starting soon, there’s no better time to visit Ohio’s Lake Erie Shores & Islands. The warm weather is proof that summer isn’t over yet. There are still several weeks and weekends left before the season ends to escape to the coast. Cedar Point Nights
Continues through August 18, 2019
Cedar Point Amusement Park, Sandusky
When the sun goes down, experience fun in the park and on the beach like never before at Cedar Point Nights! Party in the park with a concert at Lakeside Stage or dance the night away on the beach at the Glow Zone and Silent Disco Zone. If you’re looking to unwind and relax, the Chill Zone has got you covered with fire pits and lounge chairs. Challenge each other with larger-than-life games at the Family Fun Zone. 

Kelleys Island Homecoming
August 9-10, 2019
The Pavilion, Kelleys Island
Homecoming is sponsored by the Kelleys Island Landowners Association and serves as a weekend for those who love this island to enjoy fun, food, and entertainment. It kicks off on Friday night with bands, food trucks, and games for children. On Saturday, the fun begins with a parade down Lakeshore Drive at 11 am. There will also be a craft fair, food trucks, a puppet show, balloons, face painting, a bounce house, and live music. There will also be a silent auction and annual raffle.

Gather for a celebration of the summer peach harvest! Crafts, endless orchards to run through, live music, juicy ripe peaches to eat, popcorn, and more will round out a perfect day at the farm.

View the night sky from the Observation Deck at Perry's Victory & International Peace Memorial and learn how mariners navigated using the constellations and stars. NASA Ambassador, Gene Zajac, will present an astronomy program on the 317-foot tall open-air Observation Deck. 

Tall Ship: Nao Santa Maria
August 15-18, 2019
Jack Daniel’s Barrel House Saloon, Sandusky
The Nao Santa Maria’s replica comes for the very first time to America to commemorate her original journey 527 years ago, in 1492. The ship was built in Spain in 2017 by the Nao Victoria Foundation in collaboration with the Huelva’s Provincial Council. Tour this tall ship, located at a dock beside Jack Daniel’s Barrel House Saloon in downtown Sandusky.

Port Clinton Lighthouse & Maritime Festival
August 17, 2019
Waterworks Park, Port Clinton
More than 25 vendors will feature nautical, maritime, lighthouse, and local-themed items, and food vendors will offer a variety of festival-food menus. Unique and upbeat musical groups will play throughout the day. Lighthouse tours, demonstrations of seaman slip-knot-tying, ham radio hook-ups, and nonprofit organization displays. Historical lectures will be presented at scheduled times as well as storytelling, featuring Port Clinton's local Playmakers in period dress. Children's activities will include a scavenger hunt, face-painting, lighthouse tours, making musical instruments and flags for their parade, and more! 

Sandusky Shores MusicFest
August 17, 2019
Sports Force Parks at Cedar Point Sports Center, Sandusky
Sandusky Shores MusicFest is back! This second annual event is scheduled to take place at Sports Force Parks at Cedar Point Sports Center. It will include festival fun for the entire family and LIVE country music acts: Wreck’n, Jessica Hannan, Larry Fleet, Colt Ford, and headliner Montgomery Gentry.

Halupki Fest
August 18, 2019
Holy Assumption Orthodox Church, Marblehead
A celebration of Carpatho-Russian foods and culture, hosted annually by the oldest Orthodox church in Ohio. Foods such as cabbage rolls, pierogies, kolbasi, Old World baked goods, Herman Halupki's craft fest featuring 35+ vendors, historic church tours, bounce house, live polka bands, and more. Held on the third Sunday each August.

Bash on the Bay

Knights of Columbus, Port Clinton
Three-day festival over Labor Day weekend with award-winning Polka bands, excellent food and beverage choices in a friendly atmosphere. Music, food, dance, and fun.

Milan Melon Festival
August 31, 2019 – September 2, 2019
Village Square, Milan
This celebration features rides, games, contests, antique car show, and live musical entertainment. The Grand Parade is on Sunday afternoon. The famous muskmelon ice cream and watermelon sherbet are the must-have treats.
