Throughout the year, Shores & Islands Ohio is home to car shows, cruise-ins, races, and reunions. From local community gatherings and charity events, to car groups who travel to the destination with their vehicles, makes and models of all kinds can be found.
Communities across Shores & Islands Ohio gather in camaraderie for shows and cruise-ins. Port Clinton Chamber of Commerce hosts their annual car show the first Saturday of August with cars, trucks and bikes spanning decades. Attendees can also enjoy live music, 50/50 raffles, and more. Cruisin’ by the Bay takes place in downtown Sandusky as a charity event with proceeds benefiting the North Coast Cancer Patient Services Fund. Genoa Area Chamber of Commerce hosts four cruise-ins during the summer with prizes for attendees and ways to give back to local charities through 50/50 raffles.
For those who are off to the races, consider these thrilling options. The Sandusky Speedway has weekly stock car races plus additional events throughout their season which runs May through August. The Speedway also has a handful of dates spread out in the fall. Check their website 
for more information on dates, ticket prices, and classes. Another unique racing option is the Put-in-Bay Road Races. Vintage sports cars gather on the island in September to relive the exciting races that originally took place from 1952-1959 and 1963. Viewing is free and open to the public.
Besides the Road Races, Put-in-Bay will also see Amphicar Days, Put-in-Bay Jeep Invasion, and Broncos on the Bay. All three events have a parade as part of their festivities – Amphicar’s parade even includes the vehicles showing their land and water capabilities by driving in the bay. These annual events bring newcomers and aficionados together to celebrate different automobiles throughout the years.
Beyond the opportunities local communities offer car lovers, Shores & Islands is also a great location for car reunions. With roads wandering along the lake and through the countryside, drivers and riders can take their time enjoying scenic routes in 
the region. Cars can even venture across the lake to one of the islands for a super unique experience. Work with local parks and businesses to host your own car show, reuniting with fellow car enthusiasts to catch up. Consider utilizing meeting space to talk shop, discuss current issues, and reminisce about previous reunions and cars.
