Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial
Location & Visitor information
Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial was established to honor those who fought in the Battle of Lake Erie during the War of 1812 and to celebrate the long-lasting peace between Britain, Canada, and the US. The memorial, a Doric column, rising 352 ft. over Lake Erie is situated five miles from the longest undefended border in the world. Stop in the visitor's center featuring displays, a video theater, and gift shop. Daily ranger programs will be offered for all ages. Additionally, the park is hosting many special events such as the Put-in-Bay Music Festival June 6. Other planned events include a Freedom concert and fireworks on July 4, and the signature Historic Weekend event Sept 11-13. Visit the website for a complete list of events. The grounds and Visitor Center are open: May 16-Sept 13, daily 10 am-6 pm; Sept 14-28, daily 10 am-5 pm; Oct 2-19, Fri-Mon 10 am-5 pm.
