We are thrilled to announce that with the collaborative efforts between Shores & Islands Ohio, the City of Sandusky, and the Greater Sandusky Partnership; downtown Sandusky, Ohio will be the cohost of the United States debut of the Strongman Champions League (SCL), alongside Toledo, Ohio.
As seen on television and Amazon Prime, the Strongman Champions League (SCL) – an elite global competition series featuring 16 thrilling events hosted across the world - will be bringing the strongest men from all over the world to compete in our vibrant downtown waterfront for an afternoon of competition that will blow your mind! A minimum of 12 athletes will descend upon our shores to battle it out to create an unmatched spectacle in the world of professional strongman sports.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 20, 2025, as this event promises: intense action, incredible displays of 
grit, and a thrilling atmosphere the whole family can enjoy. This isn’t just any strongman contest – it’s part of a globally televised league, putting the Shores & Islands Ohio region on the international stage and offering fans a chance to experience a professional strength sport up close.
Events within the US debut competition are still being confirmed, but conversations have been had with the SCL about audiences experiencing: a truck pull, a keg throw, an incredible deadlift event, and more. No matter the event, these Strongmen will be sure to put on an experience you will never forget!
