S&IO: Tell us about your business?

Mary: I proudly serve as a dedicated realtor within my community on a full-time basis. While my primary focus lies in the field of real estate sales, my true passion is cultivating meaningful connections with a diverse range of remarkable individuals. These individuals encompass both my valued clients who entrust me with their property transactions and strangers whom I have the pleasure of meeting for the first time, only to develop a close bond through the process of buying or selling their homes or businesses. I consider myself incredibly fortunate to be a member of the esteemed North Bay Realty brokerage, which is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Sandusky, Ohio at 127 W. Market St. 

And naturally, I am very grateful to express my heartfelt appreciation to my clients, family, and friends for their unwavering support.

S&IO: What makes the Shores & Islands Ohio region a good location for your business?

The enchanting combination of Sandusky and the Shores & Islands makes it an incredible place to reside. As a real estate agent, I cater to numerous out-of-town buyers who are seeking vacation rentals or second homes in this area. Being a part of our remarkable community, I take immense pride in calling Sandusky my home.

S&IO: Anything exciting or new planned for the 2024 season? What special events do you have planned for 2024?

Mary: Certainly! I always have something going on! I have an immense passion for contributing to our community in various ways. I generously offer my time and resources to local organizations, non-profit entities, and nearby charitable causes. I am preparing to launch my annual "Adopt a School" charity initiative once again. Through this program, I will select a local school and provide essential items to each homeroom teacher for the benefit of their students. Additionally, I am Copy of Sandusky Aerialorganizing a luncheon with our local police departments, as well as actively supporting local toy drives during the holiday season. Currently, I am also working on organizing a blanket drive dedicated to our local veterans. Moreover, keep an eye out for my captivating new series titled "Let's talk everything Real Estate." In this series, I conduct interviews with local companies and organizations that focus on the aspects of home ownership and selling residential or commercial properties. Furthermore, I am developing an exciting pop-up series called "Strangers and Real Estate." Stay tuned for a sneak peek coming soon! Trust me, it's going to be an absolute blast. I am thrilled beyond measure for this endeavor!

S&IO: What is your favorite thing about living and working in the Shores & Islands Ohio region?

Mary: So many to list! I think my favorite thing about living and working in the region are the people. Sandusky is a lake town; we have fun creating priceless memories and moments with our families while enjoying what we have around us. It truly feels like a blessing to have such a supportive community and access to the various amenities that enhance our lives. The atmosphere seems to emanate this sense of contentment and unity!

S&IO: If you had friends visiting from out of town, where would you take them?

Rougarou lift hill Cedar PointMary: What a fantastic question! Whenever my friends come to visit, I love taking them to Cedar Point, an amazing amusement park. Spending quality time with them, we often enjoy a lively night out in downtown Sandusky. And if they happen to stay for the entire weekend, I make sure to plan a day or two exploring our beautiful local islands. In addition, we have other nearby communities such as Vermilion, Port Clinton, and Catawba, where we can also indulge in their wonderful attractions and facilities.

S&IO: Perch or pizza? Where is your favorite place for either?

Mary: That's a tough question! When it comes to pizza, my absolute go-to spot is none other than Sandusky’s Cameo pizza! And if we're talking about a delicious Perch sandwich, Daly's Pub and the Thirsty Pony take the top spots in my book!

S&IO: Lake or land? Would you prefer spending time on the water or by the shore?

Mary: I do love our amenities we have on land, but there is something truly magical about living by the lake! There is an unparalleled joy in taking my family to the sandy shores or venturing out to the nearby islands to seek an exciting blissful weekend getaway.

S&IO: Anything else to add regarding how to enjoy the region “like a local?”
